Here are some tips for couples planning a wedding in February in Ireland. 

1. Be prepared for unpredictable weather: February in Ireland can be quite cold and wet, so make sure you have a plan in place in case of bad weather. Consider indoor venues for your ceremony and reception, and make sure you have appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather including clear umbrellas which can work better in photographs as they still let the light through! 

2. Take advantage of the winter scenery: While the weather may be unpredictable, the scenery in Ireland during February can be absolutely stunning for photographs. Take advantage of this by talking to your photographer and planning your wedding photos in scenic locations such as parks, castles or historical landmarks. 

3. Dress appropriately: February in Ireland can be quite cold and wet, so make sure you and your guests are dressed appropriately. I’m not kidding when I say you can get really good, discrete underwear that is warm and will not show under your dress. It’s much better than shivering in your photographs! Consider offering blankets or shawls to keep your guests warm during the ceremony and reception. 

4. Get married as early as possible: The days in February can be short and dark, so make sure you get married as early as you can so you can avail of as much natural daylight as possible for your photographs. 

5. Embrace the cozy atmosphere: With the cold weather outside, February is the perfect time to create a cozy atmosphere for your wedding. Consider incorporating warm lighting, candles, and comfortable seating areas into your reception space to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Consider hot chocolate or hot whiskey for your guests on arrival or a hot drinks stand outside your ceremony. They will thank you for it. 

6. Don’t forget about Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s Day falls in February, so if you are the romantic type, consider incorporating little touches into your wedding day, such as special decor or favour’s.
