Imagine having a wedding photographer who makes you feel so comfortable, you can just be yourselves. I first met Emer when she was a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding last May. A week later we were wandering along a Donegal beach together, creating photographs before she and Andrew headed back to Australia to continue their work in the Emergency Department. Since then, we’ve kept in touch on Instagram, shared plenty of messages, and slowly got to know each other long before the wedding day arrived.

This dreamy wedding at @drenaghweddings was filled with a brilliant crowd of doctors who know a thing or two about staying calm under pressure. So, when the wedding cars didn’t show up I took the wheel and got the bride and groom to the venue. We didn’t miss a single beat or a single shot of that breathtaking wisteria.

And that’s often where the magic happens. The best photographs aren’t created by complicated posing. They’re created when people feel relaxed, understood and comfortable enough to be completely themselves.

By the time I arrive on a wedding morning, I’m rarely a stranger with a camera. We’ve already built a connection. I’ve seen how you interact together, what makes you laugh, what’s important to you and the people you love. For over 25 years, recommendations from past couples and guests have always been the foundation of my business. Algorithms come and go. Trends change.
