As a Northern Ireland Wedding photographer I’ve only had a few opportunities to photograph ‘the first look’. This is an American tradition (Nisha is American) where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony.
It’s a beautiful experience for the bride and groom. It’s much more emotive and, in my opinion, much less nerve racking than meeting at the top of the aisle with everyone watching! It’s a special moment and also a great opportunity to grab some natural photographs between the bride and groom together before the ceremony.
Nisha & Kieran left it to us and we found the perfect spot hidden within the walled garden at Solis Lough Eske Castle for their first look. The sun literally came out seconds before the reveal. It was beautiful.
I think it was the energy, the love and the willingness to be themselves and not hide their emotions that makes this wedding so special.
Thanks to Nisha & Kieran (& Kalpi – Nisha’s mum!) for asking me to document the day and to Stephen and all the staff at Lough Eske who look after us so well. Here’s some of the suppliers who contributed to the success of this day:
Venue: Lough Eske Castle
Band: The Breakfast Club
