West vs East
To be honest I’m a bit biased when it comes to my favourite places in Ireland! When I get a weekend off one of our favourite things to do as a family is jump into our camper van and head West. Yes, for me, West is always best! I’ve travelled a lot, Hawaii, Vietnam and New Zealand to name but a few but my love for the West coast of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way is the strongest! However, my photography takes me all over and when Yvonne suggested her home town of Newcastle at the foot of the Mourne Mountains for their engagement photography session I couldn’t have imagined the beauty that would greet me.
It was quite a nice Autumn day when I left my studio in Omagh but the weather got progressively worse as I headed East. Should I postpone , should I not? Yvonne & Chris were only home from London for a couple of days so I drove on into the rain hoping my usual good luck with the weather would hold out, and it did!! We had a gorgeous autumnal photography session and Yvonne introduced me to some spectacular locations along the coast and into the Mourne Mountains. The light was amazing.
Yvonne & Chris styled their outfits well to fit with the colours of the autumn season and the great outdoor feel of the locations. Despite admitting to not particularly liking getting their photographs taken they quickly relaxed into the shoot, enjoyed the experience and have a beautiful portfolio of photographs recording this special time in their lives.
The next time I see Yvonne & Chris will be when they come West to Lough Eske Castle in Donegal to celebrate their wedding next March. I hope the West of Ireland lives up to my high expectations!
