Best of 2017 – Wedding Photography
It’s been another fantastic year full of stylish, unique wedding photography.
Wedding Photography Awards
At the start of the year I was delighted to win awards at the Professional Photographers of Northern Ireland (PPANI) Annual Awards at the Galgorm Resort . These included Wedding Album of the Year 2017 1st Runner Up, Commercial Photographer of the Year 2017 1st Runner Up and Children’s Portrait Photographer of the Year 2nd Runner Up. Always a good start to the year!
My shooting year started in Donegal, with Yvonne & Chris’s beautiful spring castle wedding at Lough Eske. An enthusiastic couple, an elegant Ronald Joyce dress with pockets (my fave!) and some spring sunshine was the best start to wedding season I could have hoped for. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a few more boho weddings this year with flower crowns and wild bouquets like Sophie & Richard’s Clonabreany House wedding in Meath. I enjoyed working with the amazingly talented Grace & Saviour Wedding Stylist and photographed a stunning Rue de Seine dress. I also photographed my first Berta dress this year at Adam & Aimees super stylish Galgorm Resort wedding.
Humanist Wedding Photography
Alternative weddings like the humanist woodland wedding at the Beechill Country House and Kerry & Jay’s relaxed humanist blessing at Castle Leslie held a beautiful intimacy. May arrived with the ceremony of arches at Bryan and Olivia’s US military wedding , with a first look in the walled garden at Lough Eske Castle. I even got to experience the interesting customs of a Korean Pyebaek at Crom Castle.
I had the opportunity to explore some new places too like Nicole & Ronan’s Ghan House Wedding (from Irelands blue book!). I also travelled to my favourite place in the world, Dunfanaghy in North West Donegal for Julie & Jonny’s Rustic Marquee Wedding. Everything down to the cake toppers were hand made by the bride and groom (I love creative couples!)
Thanks to all my amazing adventurous couples who have climbed over gates for me, braved the elements but most importantly trusted me and let me be creative. This year was pretty special as I got my work published on the front cover of The Irish Times Magazine. My work has also been featured in Confetti Magazine, Love My Dress, One Fab Day, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, The Promise, Northern Ireland Homes and Interiors and Northern Woman Magazine.
I’m excited for 2018 & another year of beautiful wedding photography. So, if you’re planning your wedding & you like what I do, give me a shout.
